Health Care

This is such an easy problem to solve:

1) Conress puts all Americans on the same health care program that Congress is on. If we are going to get nailed with higher taxes etc lets at least get a superb plan,

or

2) Let Congress lead the way. All of Conress will lead the way and put themselves, their families and their staffs etc on the final plan from the crap they are currently discussing. Then Congress et al will stay on this plan for appoximately 5 years to see how it workd. Then the data can be gathered ttoo determine how it went,

Is it good for all Americans

All I can say is that if the health care bills being pushed by the Democratic Party and the President are so good the why aren't they signed up to be on our health program rather than their health program.

Remembering Jimmy Carter: Wasn't he Billy's Brother?

I've always tried to have nice feelings towards EX-PRESIDENT (as in former) Jimmy Carter. I thought to myself he was a nice guy, he meant well, I didn't vote for him but different ideas need to be tried. BULL! the crap he is spouting today is ridiculous. Is he and the whole ddemocratic party playing the race card? Why does anything against Barack Obama or his platform have to be racist? People don't like what he is trying to do - why doesn't the "Democratic Elite Party" (secretly replaced the Democratic Party) understand this?

America wants compassion. America wants health care reform. America wants reform of our legal profession. But America does not want an elitist ruling class or socialism!!

As a student of history the current events within the United States remind me of the fall of the Roman Empire. Corruption from within, placating the poor with games and treats, take over and rule by one man and his elite click and then a slow rotting of the fiber of a nation until outside forces can move in and destroy it.

Is the price of the destruction of the American Democratic experiment worth the price of your holding political power Mr and Ms Democratic Elite?

I think not.

Represent or Rule?

How is it that the Democratic Congress of the United States of America has decided it is their job to rule us rather than to represent us?

Who Controls the Price Of Oil?

Wow - I heard today that the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is the reason the price of oil and subsequently gasoline, has gone up in the last few days. Why? Neither Israel or the Gaza strip have any oil under them and I don't know of any major petroleum ship ports located here. What is being threatened? We are getting stuck again by the oil traders.

I live in South Louisiana and I do want to see a decent price for a barrel of oil, to keep the people working all along the Gulf Coast and the other oil producing states. I have family that work directly or indirectly as well as friends who make their living off of oil. But please oil traders don't make up scams to get our money!

The thought being broadcast is that the conflict "could" spread through the Arab world and production of oil will be affected. Right! OPEC needs to sell oil because they need the money pouring in to support the life style of the rich and greedy. If the OPEC (Middle Eastern specifically) states don't sell oil and can no longer protect themselves from their own people - then you'll see a spreading conflict and a heightened risk to the OPEC oil industry.

The conflict in Gaza is being used to inflame the the media so they can report more news as they see it (rather than the truth) and make the traders (traitors?) more money.

The politicians (all parties) get to rape America's wallets all the time; The banks and investment houses got to rape America's wallets for the last few years; I guess the Wall Street oil traders want their shot at the brass ring this season - again!

I'm Still Alive

Well it's been about eight months since I last posted on this my blog. It's a shame as I do have so much to say. Happy 2008 to any and all who read this. I had a great new year spending it with my family and two of our grand daughters. It was a blast.

I found out today that our oldest daughter, who has the two girls I just mentioned, is going to have a little boy this time. I'm happy either way but were excited to have a little boy this time and I know our son-in-law is happy as he was getting very outnumbered at the house.

Talked to my oldest (5) grandson Monday. He lives in Western New York State and unfortunately we do not get to see him or his little sister or their parents very often. I think that's the saddest part of my life these days, not getting to see all our kids and grandkids as often as we would like.

What a day today - oil is high, gold is high and the market is low. Living in Louisiana so many are happy that there is this great demand for oil and the prices are high but that really doesn't help you if you don't work in the oil field or have a business supported by the oil field. I am very happy for all the people doing well but I do see the minimum to average wage workers being left behind in the chase of the American Dream. I'm sure glad I'm not growing up and trying to get established today as it seems to get harder and harder to get started.

Louisiana inaugurated our new Governor Bobby Jindal yesterday (01142008). I hope he is up to the task of running our state and getting it right. It's not that Louisiana is the only corrupt state in the union - that is far from true. But if Bobby Jindal can break Louisiana away from the pride it takes in being corrupt, that would be quite a milestone.

It really is a wonderful state. I'm not a native but do call Louisiana my home and don't care to go anywhere else except for a visit. If our Gulf Coast area wasn't right at the mouth of the Mississippi we'd have some prettier beaches, but I like our coast too!(Grand Isle). The more areas of the state I've been able to travel through the more I like it. There are many different looks to Louisiana - flat, hilly, swampy, woods etc. Of course the best food is in Acadiana but you can eat well most anywhere that I've been throughout the state
